Embedded Epicure: Rollin' with the Dim Sum Truck. Listen to Good Food KCRW 89.9FM or KCRW.com. Saturday, March 20th at 11AM or Anytime Online.

"We all eat at the yellow dim sum truck, the yellow dim sum truck, the yellow dim sum truck!"

It is hard out there for a food truck. You got to watch out for the parking nazis, the cops, little tuner cars cutting you off, mechanical breakdowns, surprise health department inspections, other food trucks, pray for decent parking, dodge security at the location, move locations at a drop of a hat and 99 other problems and a brick ain't one.

Alex Chu, owner of Dim Sum Truck, was cool enough to let me ride along as I shadowed him in the day-in-a-life of a food truck hustler. I was embedded with the Dim Sum Truck and lived first hand the trials and tribulations of running a mobile restaurant.

Let me tell you, it's not easy. There is a whole lot that happens before any food truck lands and starts to serve the hungry public and even more that goes on afterwards.

Listen to the Good Food Show with host Evan Kleiman this Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11AM PST on KCRW 89.9FM or KCRW.com and ride with me as I infiltrate the world of the food truck.

And if you're justifiably hungry after the show, the Dim Sum Truck will be scheduled to land at Beer Pong at the Verdugo Bar 3408 Verdugo Road from 2 to 6PM, Saturday, March 20th.
