Mark Zuckerberg, Please Add a "Yum" Emoji for Food Lovers. It'll Probably Be the One My Friends and I Would Use Most.

Facebook has added a bunch of new emojis to supplement its famous thumb up symbol. Now there are emojis to express your love, laughter, amazement, sadness, and anger for any topic your friends post. However, one big one has been forgotten, neglected, or rejected—the "yum" emoji. As a food writer and lover, I've built quite a community on Facebook of food loving friends from all over the place. The yum emoji would probably be the one I'd use most. I suppose I could use the thumb up or heart symbols, but there's nothing more expressive than drool-producing, tongue-wagging at a plate of food porn that a friend uploaded—and nothing more flattering if you happen to be the creator of that dish.

So, Mark Zuckerberg, if you're reading this, please consider the yum emoji for any future updates. Thanks, and yum!
